Lysaker Wild River Walk
Our journey begins right outside the Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget, in the heart of the city. From here, we’ll hop on the Røa Line and take a short, scenic ride through the outskirts of Oslo, heading to the peacefularea called Røa.
Once we arrive, we’ll ease into the hike with a gentle descent toward the Lysaker River. The path that runs alongside the river is charming and accessible, offering a quiet escape just outside the city. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can leave the noise of the city behind and immerse yourself in nature.
Norway is known for its waterfalls, and even in Oslo, we’re lucky to have a few tucked away in the landscape. Along our route, we’ll pass small yet mighty waterfalls, their powerful flow a reminder of the wild beauty surrounding us. We’ll cross charming bridges, watch the rapids frothing below, and soak in the lush greenery and birdsong that fill the air.
The hike ends at Jar station, where we’ll hop on the metro for a quick ride back to Jernbanetorget, bringing our day full circle.
This is an authentic Norwegian nature experience, just a short journey from the city center. The public transport portion takes about 40 minutes, and the walk itself is a relaxed 1.5 to 2 hours.
It’s the perfect way to step out of the city, breathe fresh air, and reconnect with the wild, all within a stone’s throw from Oslo.
